Telecom Security Analyst

Remote (EU, CET overlap preferred) · occasional travel · Professional Services

Bastion Talent is retained by a specialist telecom and mobile-network security firm to fill this role. Our client works with mobile operators, governments and large enterprises to secure critical network infrastructure. The client’s identity is shared with shortlisted candidates under NDA.

The role

You will work closely with clients to deploy, maintain and improve advanced telecom security tooling — a telecom intrusion detection system (IDS), an attack-surface-management and vulnerability-scanning platform, and a telecom vulnerability knowledge base. The role combines hands-on technical work with customer engagement, so strong communication is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a primary technical contact for clients: deployment, integration, training and onboarding.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade and enhance a telecom intrusion detection system.
  • Use the vulnerability knowledge base to analyse, document and address threats.
  • Operate and improve attack-surface-management and vulnerability-scanning tools.
  • Monitor alerts, run in-depth analysis and give clients actionable recommendations.
  • Work with engineering and R&D to improve tooling; produce clear incident and analysis reports.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong grounding in IT and telecom security principles.
  • Experience with telecom protocols and signalling: SS7, SIGTRAN, Diameter, LTE, IMS, GTP-C.
  • Hands-on experience with IDS, vulnerability scanners and attack-surface-management tools.
  • Traffic analysis and packet inspection.
  • Bonus: Python, Lua or C for tooling; exposure to distributed-systems design.
  • Fluent English (mandatory); a second language is a plus.

Hiring process

  • Intro call (10–20 min)
  • Hiring-manager call (30 min)
  • Role-specific exercise
  • Final call with leadership (30 min)
