DevOps Engineer (Part-time Contractor)

Bastion Talent is retained by a specialist telecom and mobile-network security firm to fill this role. Our client works with mobile operators, governments and large enterprises to secure critical network infrastructure. The client’s identity is shared with shortlisted candidates under NDA.

The role

Keep the client’s infrastructure reliable and secure for both its internal teams and its customers, on a part-time contract basis. You will own deployment, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code, and help keep systems patched and monitored.

Key responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain services for internal teams and customers.
  • Evolve and improve the CI/CD pipelines.
  • Keep systems up to date with the latest patches and security measures.
  • Monitor and proactively troubleshoot services for issues and security incidents.
  • Document the infrastructure setup and maintain the Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) codebase.

Basic qualifications

  • 5+ years in server and application operations (DevOps).
  • Strong scripting in Bash, Python and Go.
  • Proficient in Linux system administration.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging of technical systems.
  • Strong with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred qualifications

  • Kubernetes on bare-metal deployments.
  • Monitoring with tools such as Prometheus.
  • Managing high-availability hypervisor clusters (Proxmox, ESXi).
  • Infrastructure security best practice (ZTNA and similar).
  • Fluent English (mandatory); French optional.

This is a part-time, freelance / contract engagement, fully remote within Europe (CET overlap preferred).

Our client is an independent, research-led telecom and mobile-network security specialist. For over a decade they have helped mobile operators, regulators, governments and cellular-powered enterprises secure critical network infrastructure across the full protocol stack — from legacy 2G/3G SS7 and SIGTRAN through 4G Diameter and GTP to IMS/VoLTE and 5G core, RAN and NFV. Their work spans offensive security and defensive products, and the team is lean, senior and fully distributed.
